100 Watcher mark
I'm pretty proud of breaking that 100 mark, honestly. It's not a lot of people, but those of you that do favorite and comment on the models I build really do make me happy.
I've said it many times, but it can't be said enough. Thanks to all of you!
For the obligatory special, I'm going to be building one of my favorite helicopters; the Ka-50 Black Shark. I've already posted a basic construction picture, and as usual, I will be posting updates as progress is completed.
80 (82) Watcher special!
WELL THIS IS SUDDEN ISN'T IT?
And no, I'm not giving up on the Gripen, I'm only pausing for about a week to do this special. It's a pretty small kit, I got it for 7 dollars from the model show last weekend, and for 7 dollars it's a fantastic kit!
One thing that is changing for this special, unlike the MIG-29 70 watchers special that got cancelled, is that this IS HAPPENING, LIKE RIGHT NOW!
Here's the catch.
I'm not going to tell what the plane is until I finish it. The only hint you guys get is that it's a plane I've built before.
Talk to you all in (roughly) a week! And, as usual, thanks to all of you for the support and kind words, esp
Painting may resume.
Well, I've been working out A LOT of technicality issues with painting, and in a bid to prevent the dreaded "orange peel" effect, which was the reason I stopped progress in the first place, I've taken some steps.
I figured extreme heat was a factor, so I've began storing my paints and airbrush in my room where it's around 78F at any given time. I've also added an ass load more thinner to the paints so that the paint doesn't end up drying in the air, which is what orange peel is caused by. On top of this, I'm only going to paint in the morning, because that's when it's the coolest in the garage.
So, progress will be very slow for the next mo
Cancellation of the MiG-29 Project.
The Revell kit I had picked up was... terrible, and I didn't want to fight with it to make it look nice. I was exploring other options of buying a better MiG-29 kit, and I found plenty of good kits. The problem was they were all online, and I prefer to spend my money at the local mom and pop model store I go to a lot. I went down to pick up a MiG kit they had... but it was $107 dollars... So instead I grabbed a kick ass little JAS-39 A/C Grippen fighter! It's a very, VERY nice kit, and I've been doing a lot of work on it, once I get the cockpit built then things will pick up. For now, it's mostly pre-building and weapons.
